The third section of the newsprint will present an overview of South American criminality, focusing on the narcotics business in the late 20th century. The pattern of women in the South American system will be examined. Finally, the makeup will conclude with a comparison between the experiences of women in both situations.

Theoretically, women's involvement in aversion, as well as serious works on the female offender, has been underemphasized. there are many similarities between Latin and Mafia crime families, but in terms of women, the differences stand out more completely. Regardless of the morality imposed upon either system, the Mafia families do have their own law and code and attempt to keep women out of direct involvement with the family business. This results in a smashing deal of chauvinism, but may help keep women from being gunned down with their husbands. In contrast, there is no law in Latin crime families, and it is a common practice to see women assassinated in mass bombings or gunfire, on with their husbands. Both societies tend toward the more traditional outlook toward the family, and both are products of Catholicism. Yet, in fact, neither system allows the women in their microcosm of high society to participate or have the rewards that other women have had.27
