Thomas Hobbes was an English philosopher and political theorist. innate(p) in 1588 and dying in 1679 he was one of the fundamental figures of British empiricism. One of his major works of his life was Leviathan it was produce in 1651. Leviathan expressed his principle of materialism and his concept of a social contract. When his mother heard of the Spanish Armada, Thomas Hobbes ulterior reported that my mother gave birth to twins, myself and fear. Thomas was increase and educated by his uncles. He was translating Greek tragedies into Latin iambics by the time he was 14. Later he studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, in 1603 to 1608.

He was fascinated by Psychology, especially by the problem of sense of perception and he extended Galileos mechanical physics into an explanation of human cognition. Hobbes explains the connection amidst nature, man and society through the law of inertia. A contemptible object continues to move until impeded by another great power and trains of imagination or speculations are abated only by luculent demonstration.



So mans desire to do what he wants is checked only by an equal and opposite posit for security. A society is but an artificial man invented by man and to understand polity one should merely empathise himself as part of nature.
